The site offers a variety of resources to answer key questions,

to food safety and marketing.
The site contains more than 90 downloadable online resources
 that have been collected and categorized into convenient sections. The links in this web site should help anyone
seriously considering starting a food processing operation.

ACENet
The Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet)
is a community economic development organization
 located in rural southeastern Ohio.
Its mission  is to build the capacity of local communities
to network, innovate, and work together
 to create a strong, sustainable regional economy
 that has opportunities for all. 
ACEnet assists new businesses
in the specialty food and computer technology sectors and
 linking networks of businesses, industry professionals and others. 
The ACENet website contains extensive and excellent resources

ATTRA
Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas
ATTRA is the national sustainable farming information center, providing technical assistance to farmers, extension agents,
market gardeners, agricultural researchers,
and other ag professionals in all 50 states.
It's website offers many publications and great links
to other sustainable agriculture websites.


Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community
Clinch-Powell Resource Conservation Development Council,
a rural community development organization,
serves as the lead entity and fiscal agent for the
Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community (EC).
The EC is an area included in the five-county region
designated to receive $2.75 million in direct government funding, tax incentives for local businesses and special priority
 when applying for federal grants.

Community Food Security Coalition
CFSC is a non-profit organization dedicated to building strong, sustainable, local and regional food systems that ensure access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food
 for all people at all times.
CFSC promotes self-reliance among communities
in obtaining their food and to create a system of
growing, manufacturing, processing, and selling food
that is regionally based and grounded in the principles of
 justice, democracy, and sustainability.
CFSC has over 250 member organizations.


National Association for the Specialty Food Trade
The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade
is a not-for-profit business trade association
established in 1952 to foster trade, commerce
and interest in the specialty food industry.
NASFT is an international organization
composed of domestic and foreign manufacturers,
importers, distributors, brokers, retailers, restaurateurs,
and others in the specialty foods business.
The organization has more than 2,600 current member companies throughout the U.S. and overseas.

The Southern Sustainable Agricultural Working Group
(Southern SAWG) seeks  to develop
communication and collaboration
between organizations and individuals
invested in sustainable agriculture
and to put farmers in a leadership role
in the sustainable agriculture movement.
Southern SAWG is made up of
non-profit environmental and farming organizations and individuals in a 13-state region of the Southern United States

Tennessee Small Business Development Center
TSBDC offers free assistance to help
business owners grow and develop successful, thriving businesses. TSBDC has ten full Service Centers across the state of Tennessee, along with several smaller Affiliate Offices,
that serve the small business community.
These Service Centers provide counseling for
management and technical business problems and issues including, sales and marketing.


Tennessee Specialty Foods Association
The TSFA website
lists gourmet foods manufactured by Tennessee producers.
 The Association is made up of mostly family run companies
that make gourmet, small batch versions of products in categories like jams, sauces, cakes, fudge, pasta and more.

TVA Incubator Network
TVA provides various economic development programs
for the region.
It's Business Incubators are facilities designed
 to help new businesses get started
 by providing affordable rental space, onsite support services,
and technical assistance (including financial and legal advice)
 in a unique environment that fosters growth.
The Jubilee Project is a TVA business incubator site

UT Agriculture Development Center
